Today is a Momentous Day! |
| Today is the day! Today is the day that all Americans see the naked ambition of fifteen percent of the population as they exert their will over the silent, hard working 85 percent. Today is the culmination of many years of hard work in swaying public perception, breaking down the walls of decency and building a climate of victimization and entitlement. Today the House of Representatives votes on the Senate Health Care Reform Act. |
| Never mind that no one has actually read this pork nirvana: this bill that nationalizes one sixth of the economy. Never mind that this bill is a slap in the face to all who work hard and don’t expect or would accept a handout from anyone. Never mind that, on its face, the bill is a brazen attempt to subvert the Constitution of the United States and assign obligations to buy a service and criminalization of the God-given right to choose. |
I am calling to all of you freedom-loving Americans to come once again to Washington D.C. to gather on the Capitol steps on Saturday, at 12 o’clock noon. |
We must come by the thousands. |
Speaker Pelosi will stop at nothing to fulfill her corrupt conquests. She will bring all of the corrupt ACORN liars to try to bully all the Democrats that may be having pangs of guilt knowing quite surely what their votes can and will do. If they’re bullied into saying “yes,” it will destroy America. |
Join me and Rep. Michele Bachmann in Washington DC at 12 noon EST so we can give all the Democrats who know what the end result will be the courage to say: “No, do not pass this destructive bill.” |
President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are attempting to ram their massive health care bill through Congress. |
They are pushing full steam ahead with their bill - which includes taxpayer funded abortions. We need to make certain our voices are heard in Washington. We must stop this bill. |

| All right, here’s Pelosi from last hour. This is during her weekly news conference as she came out of the big closed-door meeting with House Democrats. They canceled all committee hearings today and all the House business, and had this big confab behind closed doors where we assume they were discussing the Slaughter Rule.Read more at www.rushlimbaugh.com |
Nancy Pelosi said, “But we have to pass the [health care ] bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
Commentary: Recent data paint a picture of an economy slowing — sharply |
 The fledgling economic recovery appears to be running out of gas… The recent run of economic data is most compelling. Just about all of them paint a picture of an economy slowing — and sharply, at that… |
– both consumer confidence and sentiment have fallen unexpectedly;
– after-tax personal incomes adjusted for inflation have flattened;
– sales of both new and existing homes took a surprising stumble;
– orders for most durable goods are down;
– manufacturing has slowed;
– jobless claims are up;
– fourth-quarter GDP growth came largely from a slower pace of inventory liquidation, not from an increase in consumer spending; |
– and as a matter of fact, consumer spending weakened last quarter.
Understand that the changes in the data above were not insignificant:
– consumer confidence fell to a 27-year low; Read more at directorblue.blogspot.com |
| The Atlantic’s Clive Crook, who supports the Democratic bills, concluded that “the Republicans did not come across as the party of no. They looked well-informed, pragmatic and engaged in the discussion |
| Kevin Drum, blogging for the left-wing Mother Jones, agreed. “My take is that the summit was basically a draw, but with a slight edge to the Republicans |
| The problem with public opinion has been undeniable since Republican Sen. Scott Brown’s victory five weeks ago in Massachusetts. The problem with legislative procedure is more complex. |
| Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has proved herself a fine vote-counter, doesn’t have the votes |
| Last month, she said “unease would be the gentlest word” to describe House Democrats’ resistance. They understandably don’t want to cast votes for the Senate’s Cornhusker Kickback and Louisiana Purchase.
|
| In November, Pelosi had 220 votes for the House bill |
| The one Republican is now a no |
“The American people do not want to eat dog food! This is not North Korea!”
“Nancy Pelosi said that Rangel’s corruption didn’t jeopardize the country, so it’s okay. Do these people not get how screwed they are going to be come November?” “Mullah Nancy bin Pelosi is convincing Democrats to blow themselves up for health care. The only thing she can’t do is promise them 72 virgins.” |
“Pelosi just said that the bill can be bipartisan even though the votes might not be bipartisan. Are we live? Are we actually on the air, or am I dreaming?” |
“Algore had a piece in the New York Times yesterday which I might dissect, but I don’t know… It really is painful to expose one’s self to such psychological frailty.” |
“Did you guys hear what Obama said after the Chile earthquake? He said we can’t control Mother Nature. ‘Ah, things happen. We can’t control Mother Nature. Except when it comes to my global warming policies.’” |
“I cannot, no matter how persuasive or talented, properly convey to you how badly the Democrats want this socialized health care bill. I mean, they are willing to lose their majorities in order to get this, and if looked at in that light, you have to take this very seriously.” Read more at www.rushlimbaugh.com |
The White House and Democrats had one mission today: prepare the political class for the President’s announcement, probably Wednesday, that he thinks the Senate ought to proceed with reconciliation to ****pass or modify**** a comprehensive health care bill (passed by the House or Senate first? Not sure.). But Democrats still don’t agree: Kent Conrad, the budget committee chairman, says that the House must pass the extant Senate bill (with all the bad stuff in there) first; the House wants to see if the Senate has the votes for the Obama bill (with all the bad stuff taken out), and Conrad said today that reconciliation can’t be used to pass #HCR.
|
On Fox News Sunday, Sen. Robert Menendez claimed that Senate Democrats would be able to muster 51 votes to pass the bill through reconciliation. |
